Why is a gift voucher priced slightly higher than a regular subscription?
Gift subscriptions are structured to be all-inclusive. The slightly higher price helps cover applicable taxes and fees so recipients can redeem their gift without entering payment information.
How are international gift vouchers priced and how are taxes handled?
International gift vouchers are priced the same as regular international subscriptions ($12/month or $144/year). This reflects higher international postage and handling costs. Any VAT, GST, or import duties required by the destination country are assessed upon delivery and are the recipient’s responsibility.
If a gift voucher is redeemed by 11:59 PM ET on the 25th of the month, the subscription starts with the following month’s print. Vouchers redeemed after the 25th begin with the month after that.

What if my recipient never redeems the gift?
The gift does not auto-convert or renew. If it isn’t redeemed within the redemption window, it expires.
