Starting the Wild Pack Print Club: Believing in the Slow Build
Starting something new always brings a mix of excitement and uncertainty. When I first started planning Wild Pack Print Club in summer 2025, I knew it wouldn’t take off overnight and that’s okay. I’m new to selling my art, have a small following on instagram, and can’t gain any traction on TikTok (haven’t cracked the code for what will get my videos seen). Building something meaningful takes time, patience, and a lot of showing up, even when progress feels slow.
For those who don’t know me, I’m Katie, the artist behind Wild Thorn Collective, a Chapel Hill-based art studio where I create whimsical, quirky, and heartful animal art prints that bring personality and warmth to modern spaces. I’m a lifelong art lover who paints expressive animal illustrations — colorful, imaginative pieces that celebrate the humor, soul, and individuality of animals.
Print clubs aren’t a new idea, but I wanted to bring my own twist to it — a version that delivers affordable fine art prints and high-quality giclée animal artwork while also supporting animal rescues and advocacy groups. Every month, Wild Pack Print Club members receive an exclusive 5x7 giclée art print featuring one of my whimsical animal illustrations, plus a story card spotlighting a animal rescue organization doing incredible work. Ten percent of each month’s gross sales — with a guaranteed minimum donation — goes directly to those organizations.
October marked our first month, and six amazing people took the leap to join. That might sound small, but to me, it’s everything. Those six founding subscribers believed in this idea before there was proof it would work — and that trust means the world. Every subscriber helps grow this community of animal lovers and art collectors who care about making a difference through creativity.

I’m doing everything I can to spread the word — posting like crazy on TikTok and Instagram. But like so many artists and small business owners, I’ve learned that growing an art business on social media takes persistence. The algorithms don’t always favor small creators, and it can be tough to get traction when you’re building from the ground up. Still, I keep showing up because I believe once people discover the Wild Pack, they’ll want to be part of it.
The mission behind Wild Pack Print Club is simple but powerful: to create affordable art that gives back, helping people fill their homes with joyful animal prints while supporting animals in need.
So that’s where things stand — six members strong, a growing vision, and a long road ahead that I’m genuinely excited about. If you love animals, art with personality, and projects that make a difference, I’d love for you to join me.
Join the Pack. Collect Art. Help Animals. Be part of something that’s growing with purpose.
